Exclusive: Tuhinaa Vohra about her journey as an actress

In an exclusive interview with Heena from India Series In Romania, Ishq Mein Marjawan actress Tuhinaa Vohra shared her #storyhearttoheart.

1. How difficult is to be an actor? How you manage your personal and professional life?

Answer: How can it be difficult to do something you love? It just flows. It becomes part of you. As far as the next question goes, never has a male actor ever been asked this. For that matter, never has a male been asked this question. So why bring it up with a woman na? 😊

2. Who is your favorite co-actor from IMMJ? Answer: Had fun with all the actors, but probably bonded most with Mihir, possibly because we were always free at the same time so would spend hours chatting.

3. How was your experience with Aalisha Panwar and Arjun Bijlani sir?

Answer: Would do a lot of masti with them both. We always had lunch together in Arjun’s make-up room. He was always a great host and would often call us home or bring food for us on set.

4. What’s your favorite memorie from IMMJ?

Answer: How do you choose one memory when you had so many fun bonding times? One random memory though is eating Vineet Raina’s dabba. He is a fantastic cook and would prepare his own lunch, and I was flabbergasted by the taste! Have been asking him to feed me ever since 😂

5. How you decided that you want to be an actor? Was a dream from childhood or something else?

Answer: I think it was destiny. Because the choice was random. I was actually studying for something else. Was doing some theatre on the side when I picked up a job. But every day at exactly 5 I would tell my boss I had to leave because it was time for my play rehearsal. Then one day my boss sat me down and said, “I think you need to think about this. Do you want to work or do you want to just do theatre?” She said theatre with a smirk because of course I was supposed to choose my job over a hobby. But in that moment I knew. I quit the job and there was never any looking back.

6. Which character did you play consider that is similar with you in real life?

Answer: I don’t think any character has actually been like me. But I have been like every character. Eventually you have to play a character with your own experiences, right? That’s how you put your own personality in, and that’s why every actor will play the same part differently. But also, every character left behind a part of its soul in me. I always squat like a village woman even today, because once I played a poor untouchable from Bihar in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. When I’m engrossed in conversation I still talk like Gayatri Chauhan, the royal antagonist I played in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins. So I have several such little bits in me which make up my whole.

7. What’s your favorite: a) Bollywood actress/actor

b) food

c) song

d)colour?

Answer: a) Oh come on, so tough. I’m an actor, so I’m going to appreciate every good artiste. How do I choose? Sone names are Guru Dutt, Balraj Sahni, Nawazuddin, Ranbir Kapoor. But honestly the list is endless.
b) I love my food, so a lot of stuff tbh. But continental is probably comfort food for me.
c) I love to sing, so again, impossible to choose.
d) I wear a lot of red and black.

8. What about your next project?

Answer: I have been doing a lot of ads lately. The most recent one is for Tata 1mg with Pankaj Tripathi.

9. Tell something about your family. They support you in this career?

Answer: Yes of course, as I would not have it any other way. If I do want to spend time at home, then that is my choice. Nobody can force me to do it. You too must always make sure that no one ever asks you to choose between looking after your home and your work/passion. Life is big and everything can be done.

10. If you weren’t an actor, what would you have done?

Answer: I had wished to study psychology so maybe something in that field. I find that even people I don’t know reach out to me easily. They feel trust and instinctively know that they won’t be judged. So apparently I make a great agony aunt. And a friend of mine recently told me that I don’t know it, but I am a healer by nature.

11. A message for your fans.

Answer: Love yourself. Not selfishly. Love the whole world, and love yourself because you are a part of it. Look at everything with the energy of love. And love yourself like you would your best friend. There is no healer more powerful than love. Again, I mean universal love, not love for one. ♥️
